Satta Matka Glossary सट्टा मटका शब्दकोश
The words used on result and chart pages, each explained in a sentence or two, with examples.
- Satta Matka
- A number lottery game that started in Mumbai in the 1960s. Each market draws numbers twice a day, an open and a close, and players guess single digits, pairs or three-digit combinations.
- Market (Bazar)
- A named draw with fixed result times, such as Kalyan, Milan Day, Main Bazar or Sridevi. Each market has its own timings and running days.
- Open and Close
- The two halves of a market's result. The open result is declared first; the close result follows a couple of hours later.
- Panna (Patti)
- A three-digit number declared at the open or the close, for example 147. Its digits are written in ascending order, with 0 counted as 10, so 147 is valid but 741 is not.
- Ank (Single)
- The last digit of the sum of a panna's three digits. For panna 147: 1 + 4 + 7 = 12, so the ank is 2.
- Jodi (Pair)
- The open ank and close ank written together. If the open ank is 2 and the close ank is 7, the jodi is 27. There are 100 jodis, 00 to 99.
- Full result
- Open panna, jodi and close panna together, written like 147-27-359.
- SP, DP, TP
- Single Patti (three different digits, e.g. 147), Double Patti (two digits the same, e.g. 112) and Triple Patti (all three the same, e.g. 333).
- Jodi chart
- A week-by-week record of a market's jodis, used to see past results at a glance.
- Panel chart
- Like a jodi chart, but showing the full open and close pannas for each day as well as the jodi.
- Red jodi (cut jodi)
- A jodi whose two digits are the same or differ by 5, such as 11, 16, 50 or 05. Some players track them as a group.
- Final ank
- A single digit guessed for a market's result, typically the open or close ank.
- Guessing
- Predicting numbers from past results and patterns. Results are chance: no guess or method can be guaranteed.
